Adele learning the long kneeI'm an American living in Helsinki, Finland and have been training in Muay Thai for over a year at the Helsinki Thaiboxing Club ( www.htbc.fi) under the supervision of Petri Martinez. Although training is wonderful at HTBC, explanation of techniques are done in Finnish and my understanding of the language is very minimal. There are many kind people at the club whom I train with who explain to me things in English and I also learn visually...

My husband and I went on holiday back home to California for a month and decided to check out OC Muay Thai after scouring the internet for a Muay Thai gym. After going to the first training session I enjoyed the fast pace (quite different to what I'm used to) and decided to go for a private training session with David Jansson.

David was very informative and off the bat knew what I was doing wrong with my technique - plus, he answered all my questions very throughly! I had a lot of questions to ask - mind you, I bet any other instructor would be annoyed. :)

I visit the US maybe 1-2 times a year and I will definately be going back to OC Muay Thai for more private training sessions. If you want proper Muay Thai training and you're up for a challenge, then I definately suggest you consider OC Muay Thai as a place to train. Everything's straight Muay Thai no bullshit involved.

Cheers

Adele

From South Africa
guy.jpgUpon entering OC Muay Thai I was greeted as if I was a long time student there. Everyone there was really friendly and made training fun and enjoyable. Even with the friendly atmosphere, when it was time to train I knew I was training; it was hard and grueling as it should be. They introduced me to some new training techniques which I had never used before. For the short time that I was there they helped me perfect my knee techniques, which I could feel the difference immediately and in my recent fight.

Thanks Guys

The bottom line is OC Muay Thai is real deal, with traditional techniques exported directly from the toughest camps in Thailand. Until you’ve seen the difference it’s hard to appreciate it. As a former Army Paratrooper and law enforcement tactics instructor, I’ve tried a lot of different martial arts styles, most were fine in the dojo and not applicable to the real world.

A trip to Bangkok quickly (and painfully) convinced me that Muay Thai was the way to go for stand-up confrontation. After returning to Southern California, I found plenty of “kickboxing” schools advertising as “Thai boxing” or some general watered down spin-off.

Do some research, see the fighters training here and well……enough said. Best of all, I can train hard, learn useful techniques and then go home without a trip to the emergency room like many other training studios I’ve been to.

Chok dee,
Chris
